Dear Guests! With our March 2026 menu, we are not only bidding farewell to the winter and early spring season, but also closing the first eight years of Alkimista in its familiar small space! We are embarking on a spring renovation, so the restaurant will be closed for six weeks from mid-March until the end of April. We plan to reopen on the evening of April 30!
If you haven't already done so, sign up for our newsletter, where we will be the first to announce how we are doing, when the new booking platforms will open, and what the summer has in store!
Thank you all very much, we hope to see you soon!

The Alkimista is a small, 16-seat dinner restaurant hidden in the heart of Szeged.
Its unusual style is rooted in this deliberate seclusion: an intimate space within the pulse of the city center, offering unique 8-course tasting dinners, an independent free kitchen, and evenings personally led by the chef – all of which make this culinary workshop one of a kind.
In 2025, Alkimista received the recognition of "Progressive Hungarian Kitchen of the Year."
What happens here is a distinctive blend of new ideas and ancient techniques; our menu is not a list of ingredients but a seasonal narrative of the landscape where we grew up. An interpretation that draws upon our shared culinary memories.
Three evenings a week we welcome those who delight in discovering a place, with full-course dinners, culinary storytelling, a modern yet tradition-rooted sustainable regional cuisine, carefully chosen ingredients, natural wines, and the ever-shifting essence of time.
We offer tasting dinners, for which advance online booking is required. All further practical information can be found here.
Opening hours: Thursday | Friday | Saturday | 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM
For private dining, reservations can be made outside these hours for groups of 10–12 guests or more.
